'Paradise' From The Past
No, I do not like that new Hannah Montana track (lie). Yes, I have instead been listening to the Magnetic Fields (double lie). What can I say? I'm a sucker for all things pop.
Before you completely write off my indie authenticity, I must confess that I've recently quit smoking (truth) and that I need escapes during my work day to help me not to go completely mental. While I now have a new addiction to tootsie pops, I've found that classic pop hits from the past have also curbed my urges. So, there you have it.
You really can't get much better than Meatloaf (lie), and his videos have become staples in my head. I can remember the first time I saw "I Would Do Anything For Love" and found my eyes widening in wonder and confusion. But "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" has always been a serious favorite of mine, as I often fantasized being Ellen Foley. Well, looks like my part will have to be saved for karaoke nights. But I'm okay with that.
