If you're sick of hearing about Animal Collective, suck it up ... they deserve it. Besides, I'm not going contribute to the shitstorm of Vampire Weekend press, short of saying that the drummer has been injured in an accident, which means about fifteen different music websites just laid off their Vampire Weekend columnist.

Where were we? Oh, right. Animal Collective will be releasing a long-awaited EP on May 5th, titled Water Curses. We Amurricans will be able to get a copy from Domino Records in both 12" and CD format. Three tracks of the EP reportedly come from the session that brought us 2007's dreamy Strawberry Jam, with Scott Colburn on production duty at Wavelab Studio in Tucson. The final track, "Seal Eyeing", was recorded separately at the Brooklyn Rare Books Studio. It seems like everything these kids touch turns to experimental gold, so I for one, am quite pumped.
