Pete Doherty Goes to Jail, Apologizes For Canceling Gig
Avid readers of LWMB will recall that I caught Mick Jones’ Carbon/Silicon on
Friday night. During Jones’ post-Clash/Big Audio Dynamite days he’s kept busy,
even producing Babyshambles’ Down in
Albion. Now comes word today Bambyshambles' frontman Pete
Doherty - who’s pleaded guilty to numerous drug
offenses, went to jail for stealing a guitar from his bandmate’s flat and, most notably in my opinion, dated supermodel Kate Moss - has been sentenced to 14 weeks in jail for
violating his probation and missing appointments with his probation officer. Oh, for Pete's sake!
Though he’s promised to live on the straight and narrow, it’s all gone Pete Tong for Mr. Doherty once again. A gig at the Royal Albert Hall has been canceled and an appearance at is up in the air.
Said a representative from Doherty’s label: "The show is due to be rescheduled and all tickets will be valid for the new date once it has been announced. … Peter was very much looking forward to the show and would like to offer his sincerest apologies to all his fans and all those concerned."
