Axl Finishes "Chinese Democracy"; Where's My Dr. Pepper?

Posted on April 10, 2008

Guns-N---Roses.JPGWar. Famine. Death. Axl Rose finally finishing Chinese Democracy. These are the four horsemen of the apocalypse, children, and now we've got all of them. That's right. A number of sources are reporting that Guns N' Roses have handed that legendary album, now 15 years in the making, to Geffen Records and are in talks about its release. To give some perspective on how long we've been expecting Chinese Democracy, well, Axl's mortal enemy, Kurt Cobain, was still alive when the project was announced. I turned nine that year. So, while I'm not quite expecting Brian Wilson's Smile, I am pretty goddamn curious.

Axl has been in the news a lot lately. In a story that was also posted today, the NME claims that the singer has been in talks with a "major music-orientated television channel" about supporting the release with a reality show. Dare we dream of seeing Axl in a Rock of Love-style dating show?

And, of course, no one can forget Dr. Pepper's offer to distribute a free soda to everyone in the United States if and when the album appears. I just hope they'll be giving out the original kind, and not that gross, cherry-vanilla diet crap they're always advertising.
