I once worked with someone that was completely and utterly obsessed with The Thermals. I liked them enough, but I couldn't understand her undying love. However recently, I've found myself drawn to the Portland duo a lot more, and believe that they are one of the few bands out today that will stick around for the long haul. I'm already anticipating their next album, the follow up to the incredible The Body, The Blood, The Machine. But until then, we have the pleasure of catching them on the all-mighty La Blogoteque for a Take Away Show. Since the exit of their drummer, Hutch and Kathy have gone back to their acoustic/folky roots, so it's nice to see them slow down a bit (although I can't help but want to rock out). Check out the videos below for two unreleased tracks, performed on the coast of Oregon.
