I had my first brush with The Offspring at the tender age of 9. I was playing Magic: The Gathering in my friend's basement (gangsta), when his father walked downstairs holding a Nobody Beats the Wiz bag. He turned to his son, and said "Son. I've bought you a cassette full of profanity, so don't listen to it around your mother. I just need to make sure that you entertain yourself with things other than this stupid card game." He left The Offspring's Smash on the table, which we later listened to three times in a row. Since then, I haven't touched a Magic card.

The Offspring rocked my early adolescence, so I was psyched to hear some news about them this morning. The Huntington Beach punks will release their 8th studio album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, on June 17th after a four year studio hiatus.
