Cookenomics -- iTunes adores David Cook
I've been posting a lot about American Idol winner David Cook lately (blame my heterosexual man crush), so I'll promise this is the last one for a while. After his big win last week, Cook has already earned the #1 spot on the digital singles charts. His crowning song "The Time of My Life" has sold 236,000 + downloads in less than a week, knocking chart queen Rihanna from her reigning spot.
But the success doesn't stop there. Cook's complete catalog of American Idol performances have been selling like hamburgers at Ruben Studdard's favorite restaurant. Here are some stats on iTunes sales.
The Time of My Life (Original) - 236,000
Dream Big (Original) - 111,000
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (U2) - 97,900 The World I Know (Collective Soul) - 80,000
I Don't Want To Miss a Thing (Aerosmith) - 60,000
Billie Jean (Michael Jackson) - 56,300
Always Be My Baby (Mariah Carey) - 46,600
Hello (Lionel Richie) - 42,300
Pretty good, Cook!
