Concerts 2.0?

Posted on May 29, 2008

deeprockdrive.jpgSince everything in the freaking world has become interactive, this new venture should come as no surprise. A Vegas-based company called Deep Rock Drive is on a mission to turn live concerts into interactive events for online users. Basically, a user/music fan purchases a "ticket" to the online show (presented in a high definition viewing window), and participates in the event by voting on the band's set list, choosing the camera angles, and sending live messages to the band.

While the website is still developing their online audience, most of the events have been free to "attend" (courtesy of a blatant Pepsi endorsement), but will start costing $4 - $10 per show later down the line. The first full show on May 16th featured country rockers Lady Antebellum, and has since featured  Marie Digby and Matt Nathanson. Tonight, metal rockers Disturbed take over the Deep Rock Drive stage/studio at 8 PM. A full schedule of bands is under the cut.

5/29 Disturbed
6/1 Vince Freeman
6/11 Motion City Soundtrack
6/12 Marc Cohn
6/16 OAR
7/11 Trouble
