There was no shortage of musical diversions in Philadelphia this weekend. For those of us without fifty dollars to drop at The Roots Picnic on Saturday, Diplo and friends provided a low-rent, down and dirty plan B. The Mad Decent Block Party took over a few solid square blocks in Northish Philly yesterday, where for a few short hours hood locals and hopsters got along splendidly. While openers DJ Blaqstarr and DJ Sega hit the stage, neighborhood kids beat the heat in a nearby kiddie pool. They were later terrified by a costumed hipster, dressed as a monstrous Elmo.
