<img src='http://blog.limewire.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/avril1.jpg' alt='Avril' / align="right" hspace="15">Forty-eight hours before Mayor Bloomberg decided to ditch the GOP in favor of a curious state of political ambiguity, Canada’s MuchMusic held its annual award gala in Toronto. As expected, Billy Talent, My Chemical Romance and Avril Lavigne were among the big winners of the night. Other winners included Nickelback, Fergie and Hillary Duff.

"This seriously means so much to me, I'm going to cry," said Lavigne before she closed the show with "Girlfriend" wearing a black sweat jacket with a Canadian flag on the back.

"I've never showed that side (of me) before but you can't really hide it when you feel like that," Lavigne told the Canadian Press on Monday of her tearful display. "It was a really big moment for me, five years into my career, my third record and just to still feel so much support and love, especially from Canada, it was a very cool moment."
