A New Alias, A Familiar Sound for Fatboy Slim
Big beat maestro Fatboy Slim (aka Norman Cook) has unveiled the first video from his new alias, Brighton Port Authority. BPA’s first single, “Toe Jam,” features David Byrne on vocals and a guest rap Dizzee Rascal. The single will be released on July 7 on Cook's Southern Fried label. The Keith Schofield directed video looks straight out of That ’70s Show, featuring shimmying naked swingers (if you like that sort of thing). BPA’s forthcoming album features collabs with Iggy Pop (“He’s Frank”), Martha Wainwright (”Spade”) and Ashley Beedle (”Should I Stay or Should I Blow"). The album has no official release date or US label at the moment.
In unrelated Norman Cook news, The Daily Mail reported that Cook’s marriage to Zoë Ball is on the rocks (again). Meanwhile, the couple showed off their luxury yacht called the Barracuda for the Times. A one-week rental will set you back £20,000.
