Spin, Myspace Records deliver Smashing Pumpkins tribute

Posted on June 18, 2007

smashingpumpkins.thumbnail.gifIt’s an exciting time for Smashing Pumpkins fans. The band is reemerging from their prolonged hiatus with a new album (Zeitgeist) and a list of sold out shows throughout the summer. To introduce the band to the next generation of music listeners, Myspace Records has put together a Smashing Pumpkins tribute album using covers from artists that understand teen angst. The disc will be packaged with the July issue of Spin. Here’s the track list:

Panic! at the Disco: "Tonight, Tonight"
(+44) : "I Am One"
The Academy Is ... : "Mayonaise"
The Bravery: "Rocket"
Young Love: "1979"
The New Amsterdams: "Thirty-Three"
Test Your Reflex: "Ava Adore"
Ben Kweller: "Today"
The Most Dangerous Race: "Signal to Noise"
Gliss: "Rhinoceros"

Not impressed? Me neither. If you're looking for something less pop-punk, try the 2005 tribute, The Killer in You.
