Modest Mouse "Secret" Show Tickets Bring Out the Bottomfeeders

Posted on June 19, 2008

Picture 6.pngSince noon today I have intermittently been trying to get Modest Mouse tickets to their "morning" show at 1:30am tonight at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. To all of you who have tickets: congrats. For the rest of us, it's been a rough day of battling Ticketmaster and trawling Craigslist.

There are people who scalp tickets on Craigslist ($100 per ticket is the latest high offer; the show was originally listed at $20). Then there are losers who try to use their newfound possession of power via their Modest Mouse tickets to get dates with "cute girls" with whom they could never go on dates otherwise. Like this dude (screen capture above doesn't get his post, please do click to see what I mean). No one who needs to barter a Modest Mouse ticket for a date could possibly be "good company", nor would I ever send said person a picture of myself. Or would I?

Yes Modest Mouse, I love you. But do I love you this much? What if the guy is creepy? What if he's not "fun" and "cool" as he's claimed to be? Maybe I feel more like this guy. Damn you scalpers and weird bribing date-mongerers. Damn you.
