As any Southerner will tell you (at length, usually) BBQ in NYC are six letters that don’t always add up to a delicious, authentic meal. Enter Memphis’ Justin Timberlake to the culinary rescue. The man who’s dated Cameron Diaz, caused Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction and managed to eek out a pretty amazing post Backstreet Boys career is opening his own BBQ joint, Southern Hospitality, this weekend. Our man is partnered with a few friends, and the restaurant is located on the mean streets of the Upper East Side. But its aim of bringing true BBQ to Gotham seems true. Unlike the recent high profile opening of Hill Country, JT’s joint will be fairly low-key, reasonably priced and has a good chance at success.
