Beatles Video Game in the Works?
Rumors have been flying for a while now that Beatles reps are in licensing talks with the makers of both Rock Band and Guitar Hero. What's the hold up? It seems that the deal will have to get past both Apple Corps, a group that oversees all Beatles business ventures, and EMI, which owns the band's master recordings. Personally, I don't see why these guys are dragging their feet when they've already allowed the dimwits of American Idol unlimited karaoke access to their catalog.
And here's a bonus, kind of creepy, quote from MTV (the company that manufactures Rock Band), from the same article: “We are talking to virtually every major rock artist all the time about ways we might get them involved in Rock Band.” Uh, good to know, Big Brother.
Meanwhile, it seems that MTV has no problem reporting on its own products. According to them, a third competitor is about join the Guitar Hero/Rock Band fray. No real details have been revealed about Konami's Rock Revolution yet, but if for some reason the original two games aren't enough for you, look out for it in the fall.
