N.E.R.D. Adds Female Member To The Fold

Pharrell N.E.R.D.

The international playboy that is Pharrell is no stranger to getting the girl, but this girl, he’s sharing with his homies. Following in the footsteps of the Black Eyed Peas, Lil Skateboard P has revealed to MTV that he and his bandmates in genre-hopping combo N.E.R.D. have added a female vocalist by the name of Rhea. The collective will now feature Rhea alongside Pharrell, Chad, and Shay in all of their new recordings, adding a different flavor than what some fans may be used to hearing from the former all-boys club.

“Now you have this little Tinkerbell that’s just stepped in and has been amazing,” Pharrell said of Rhea, via MTV.

The now-four-member crew is also hard at work in the lab crafting the next N.E.R.D. project, entitled Instant Gratification, the follow up 2008’s Seeing Sounds. The new project will be the first taste of Rhea getting down with the crew and will show a broader range to the collective’s sound, according to Pharrell.

“It’s made it a fun process. We can go in so many more directions, because we have the vocal support,” he said.

No official release date has been issued for the group’s new disc. In the meantime, P and the gang are out on the road with the Jigga man himself as part of the Blueprint 3 Tour, which kicks off tonight in State College, PA.
