Hey this video is kind of funny. Because everyone knows Kanye West has a huge ego, right? And look, now you can be like him, which would OBVIOUSLY be better, right? Get it?

But hey, for a viral marketing campaign it’s actually a pretty clever infomercial pastiche and does a great job of taking advantage of many people’s perception of West. And yet, I can’t imagine this was a contrived move on his part; I can’t imagine it’s a calculated move to help diffuse his reputation for egomaniacal behavior. Does the man, who after receiving a B from Entertainment Weekly, for his “Glow In The Dark Tour,” have a sense of humor?

To me, this clip draws even more attention to West’s rigid public persona. It reminds me of one of those SNL Digital Shorts, except if it were one of those, and not an Absolut vodka commercial, West would probably be playing Miley Cyrus or a Chinese woman who sells Mexican food. But, like an SNL skit, all this video does is remind us that the next time someone prominent says something even the slightest bit negative about Kanye West we can all expect to read about an absurdly bombastic response.
