Ian Curtis's Grave Stone Stolen
Posted on
What kind of sick fuck would steal the grave stone of Ian Curtis, the Joy Division singer who killed himself in 1980 at the age of 23? Well, clearly, there's someone out there messed up enough to do it, because the stone, which reads "Love Will Tear Us Apart," went missing from England's Macclesfield Cemetery sometime between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.According to local police, "This is a very unusual theft and I am confident that someone locally will have knowledge about who is responsible or where the memorial stone is at present." They also mentioned that there's no closed circuit TV monitoring the cemetery. Which sounds like a great idea, for a place that houses the body of a dead cult figure admired by unstable teenagers around the world. I'm actually kind of surprised it hasn't been stolen before.
