Bret Michaels' Next Career Move: Infomercials

Posted on July 03, 2008

bretmichaels.jpgEvery time I see the infomercial for Time Life’s classic soft rock series hosted by Air Supply, I’m this close to calling the 800 number. I’ll need some will power this week, because a half-hour infomercial starring Bret Michaels from Posion and VH1’s “Rock of Love” is hitting the late-night airwaves.

Poison’s frontman will be hawking Hard & Heavy, a Time Life compilation series of "the most complete collection of hard rocking, head banging hits of the ‘70s and ‘80s ever assembled." Filmed in the warehouse district of downtown L.A. "with two hot rockin’ co-hosts," the program features over 80 performance clips of music and artists from the ‘70s and ‘80s.

I could care less about exclusive DVD of Michaels performing acoustic versions of two Poison hits and two original songs, but the idea of having 152 rockin’ hits from Blue Öyster Cult, Boston, Cheap Trick, Cinderella, Alice Cooper, Damn Yankees, Deep Purple, Europe, Extreme and Foreigner at my disposal makes my palms sweaty.

Says Bret in a press release statement he obviously didn't say: "This is the music that I love, live and breathe everyday. Hard & Heavy is, hands down, the hardest rockin’ collection I’ve ever heard. Time Life has put together something that I’ve always dreamed of. Killer guitar riffs, emotional power ballads and high octane metal.”

Time Life's Hard & Heavy 9-CD collection? $119.96. The chance to see what's under Bret Michaels' hat? Priceless.
