Rachael Ray Campaigns For Hall & Oates

Perky celebrity chef/mogul Rachael Ray is on a mission, and this time it’s not about teaching us the joys of how to cook a frittata in 30 minutes. Earlier this week, Ray, who is a self-described music fan (her husband John Cusimano plays in The Cringe), blogged that she couldn’t believe that blue-eyed soul legends Hall & Oates hadn’t been inducted into the Rock & Holl Hall of Fame, and she asked her faithful readers to join her on a grassroots movement to right this terrible wrong. Ray started an online petition and apparently received nearly 400 testimonials in 48 hours, plus groundswells of support on Twitter (#hallandoatespetition) and Facebook. Did you know Hall and Oates, one of the biggest pop rock duos in history has not yet been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame??? I was surprised myself when they told me that recently on a taping of the Rachael Ray show. That’s why I want you to leave me a comment here and this will act as our petition to get these guys into the Hall of Fame. We’ll gather all of your kind words, and send this off to show just how much we support these guys.

Hall & Oates recently released a box set, Do What You Want, Be What You Are: The Music of Daryl Hall and John Oates, via RCA and will appear on Ray’s TV show on November 6th. Set your TiVos. Yum-o!

    I find it hard to believe that my favourite rock & roll group isn’t in the Hall of Fame. Hall and Oates are true rock idols and gifted musicians. Their music has filled my heart with joy and I know they have enriched the lives of so many other music lovers. They deserve their rightful place in rock and roll history and should have received that honour a long time ago. Please correct this oversight asap.

    Another dizzy trying to make some noise. If Rachael Ray knew anything she’d know fan petitions do not get people into the R&R hall of fame. And really…..who cares? It’s a political club for the brown noses of the music industry and does not truly represent the gifted artists or their works. I say H&O are better off keeping themselves disassociated from this establishment. They shine brighter without their backing. Rachael Ray needs to stick to making cookies….

    I can not believe that this great duo has not been inducted into the Hall of Fame. My friends and myself would not have had the same fun in high school had it not been for these two great singer/songwriters. Please right tis horrible wrong.
