Jay-Z, Alicia Keys Try It Again, Sneek Peek At New Video

alicia_keysAlright all you Yankees fans. Jeter and the boys might have blown it yesterday and let the Phillies grab one at home, but that could have very well been because they didn’t have that true “Empire State Of Mind.” No worries, after having the performance postponed due to the rainy weather, the Yanks will definitely get a boost tonight from Jigga and miss Alicia Keys as the duo are set to perform-for real this time- tonight before the opening pitch.

According to the Associated Press, the performance will feature a heavily toned-down, censored version of the original song, as to accommodate the all-ages crowd that will undoubtedly be in attendance during the game. “A source close to the rapper who requested anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak on the matter says Jay-Z won’t utter curses or other raw language included in his hit, which has been blasted by the New York Yankees during their playoff run,” reports the AP.

While the duo were scheduled to perform on a stage on the actual field, that may be in question due to the continually wet weather and the possible condition that the stage may leave the playing field in afterward. Guess it’ll be a game-time decision.

But for all those who will be tuning in tonight to catch a glimpse of the Hell’s Kitchen and Brooklyn natives respectively rock the crowd, here’s a little taste of what’s to come. A teaser for the much-hyped visual clip for the song has surfaced on line and looks to be pretty decent. Take a look.

Great performance…the energy was hard to create because of the size of the stadium, but still dope nonetheless. Alicia Keys was looking sooooooooo right in those jeans…my gosh. I’m not even into her like that, but damn.
