Eminem Makes Move Into Horror Films

eminem 2The mind of Marshall Mathers is a seemingly complex, deep, dark and lonely place. But that actually works out well for the rest of us. After being treated to some of the most graphic lyrical imagery that mainstream hip-hop has ever been privy to, Eminem is said to be broadening his scope and using his Stephen King-like imagination to take on a whole other arena of creativity, horror films.

According to HipHopWired, the Detroit bad boy is looking to release his own brand of scary movies entitled Shady Talez. The series of flicks will reportedly pay homage to certain classic pieces of horror cinema like Aliens and The Lost Boys while others will be original tales of things that go bump in the night. Doing a little bit of damage control and attempting to put out the rumor fires before they spread too far, Em’s publicist Dennis Donnehy, has stated that everything is currently just in discussion and that there has been no ink on anything as of yet.

Reports are also saying that if and when the deal is finalized, Mr. Mathers is looking to have an acting role or two in the films himself. His role in the gory, cable-debuted video for the song “3 A.M.” might give you a glimpse into what kind of direction that the rapper is trying to go in. No word on if these joints will actually be hitting theaters or going the DVD route.

No stranger to the freak out films, check out this throwback Em and Royce 5’9” joint for their aptly titled track, “Scary Movie.” Enjoy.
