Foo Fighters: Live! Tonight! On Facebook!

foo-fighters

You remember the Foo Fighters, right? Sure you do. They’re that band fronted by the Them Crooked Vultures drummer. And guess what? They’re performing live, tonight, on Facbeook, for fans around the world. Spinner reports that Foo Fighters will be streaming their show at 10pm ET, from their California rehearsal space. The Foos, who have well over 800,000 Facebook followers, have already received over 12,000 RSVPs for the show. Am I sacrificing my pre-Halloween Friday night for it? Nah. If you must know, I’m going to see Pissed Jeans and Awesome Color in a room packed to the gills with NYU undergrads. So I won’t judge you for the Foo Fighters-related choices you make.

Anyway, the performance should include a fair number of classics, as it comes less than four days before the release of the band’s Greatest Hits on Tuesday. In addition to tracks spanning the Foo Fighters’ career, the album will feature two new songs, “Word Forward” and “Wheels,” produced by Nirvana veteran Butch Vig. And then there’s the Them Crooked Vultures debut, which hits stores November 17th. So perhaps those dudes will make a guest appearance, too?

At a time in this music day in age were this new hiphop industry has completely taking over airwaves as well as are listeners dollars spent on cd’s and merchandise.. It’s a complete shame that some of the best musical written pieces are not even played on the radio because of the increasing popularity of the whole hip hop culture in its self…In a time were rock and roll is floating away in a dead sea, we see one of the few band still rocking out and sticking to there roots. Foo Fighters are and will continue to carry the torch making, i would imagine so many past greats proud.
