Vibe Magazine is Alive, Announces New Issues

Readers rejoice, as Vibe Magazine has just officially announced their next issue! The longstanding hip-hop magazine has had a rough go of it lately. The magazine folded and changed hands, but will rise again in December, with a brand spankin’ new issue. Talk about a quick turnaround!
The new issue of Vibe will hit newstands on December 9th, with a cover featuring Chris Brown. Not only will the magazine return in print, the direction of new Editor-In-Chief Jermaine Hall has brought about a more prominent web presence, which will shift the magazine’s focus dramatically. This new shift will see the print edition of Vibe reduced from ten issues per year to a mere four, but fret not, Vibe fans, there will be even more exclusive content online at Vibe.com.
“Here, Vibe.com is really the hub,” said Hall in a recent statement. “That’s where everything needs to go back to. Whether it’s the magazine, or we decide to do some kind of TV programming down the line, everything needs to come back to Vibe.com.”
In this day and age, Vibe’s decision to focus on web-related content is a wise one, as many prominent magazines have shifted from a print to an online medium to cut costs and ensure their survival. If this is what it takes for the magazine to flourish in this day and age, let us embrace this new web direction and look toward the future.
