Mos Def, Jay Electronica and Curren$y Form New Group
Don’t believe the hype ! Contrary to popular belief, it’s being proven everyday that rappers can in fact get along. Case in point, the homies Mos Def (pictured), Jay Electronica and Curren$y have decided to team up and create what will be known as Center Edge Territory, a new group comprised of the aforementioned rhyme spitters.
According to an interview with MTV, while Mos and Jay were already acquaintances, both emcees met Curren$y while chilling at Damon Dash’s latest multi media venture, a venue called DD172. According to Curren$y, the trio mingled the entire night but upon meeting the two it was on from there, with the three-headed monster forming into CET.
“Jay Electronica is from my city, he’s from New Orleans. I never met homie until I stepped foot in this building,” explained Curren$y. “He came here to meet Mos. And Mos, I had only known him for 24 hours prior to that. But genuine people could recognize [each other], it was like, ‘Let’s go.’”
The crew has reportedly already been hard at work in the studio and has already finished a grand total of six tracks, but where these tracks will surface (i.e. mixtape, album, soundtrack, etc.) has not yet been determined.
Would be a great look if this project were able to receive a proper release. Hey, Slaughterhouse did it, so it can definitely be done. Peep Curren$y as he gives his thoughts of the new posse.
