Souls Of Mischief Link With Prince Paul For New Album
Guess who’s bizack??? For all of those who are fans of the Oakland hip-hop collective known as Souls Of Mischief, the wait is over. The Hieroglyphics family members have been hard at work in the studio and now Souls are set to release their first piece of new material in quite some time.
According to HipHopDX, the new album, Montezuma’s Revenge, is all set and ready to go for a fresh December 1st release date, just in time to stuff a few stockings with some left coast hip hop this holiday season. The release, which is Souls’ fifth full length project and the first batch of brand new material since 2000’s Trilogy: Conflict, Climax, Resolution, is set to be executive produced by Prince Paul, a collaboration that took some doing to make happen.
“Paul is a perfectionist and so are we so we took time with the beats and subject matter,” says group member Tajai. The crew, probably most famous to the masses for their breakout 1993 hit “93 Til Infinity”, definitely have a few years on the Soulja Boy’s and the Drake’s of the world and prefer to consider themselves vintage as opposed to being old heads.
“This album to me is a great insight into who we are as people and how important it is to progress stylistically, yet it retains a classic, timeless feel,” says Tajai.
If you’re wondering if the boys can still rock a stage and you just happen to live in Europe, you can catch the fellas as they cruise the continent, as they’re currently on a European tour to support the album. Try to show the crew some Euro-love if you can.
