Roger Daltrey Tells All!

thewhoOkay, maybe not all. But The Who frontman Roger Daltrey really does intend to pen an autobiography. Currently on a solo tour, Daltrey had this to say about the project to TheRockRadio.com:

I’m thinking about a biography now. It’s probably time. Just the story of my life and the things I’ve done, y’know, it’s kind of interesting. And when I look at the juxtapositions of things — y’know, like being the singer in the Who to being a fish farmer, and being a film star to being a beef farmer… There’s all these swings and round-a-bouts in my life that are so juxtaposition-ed. There were interesting times, they were interesting times. And it wasn’t all fun, but there was an awful lot of fun. The only trouble is, the people usually want the salacious crap and I don’t know if I’m prepared to dig that, y’know?

Then don’t get into the memoir business, dude. Of course people want “the salacious crap.” I mean, as interesting as I’m sure your experiences as a fish farmer must be… I’m guessing the fans are going to want to hear about sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll. Just a hunch.

Now, as you may remember, memoir-writing isn’t the elder rock statesman item on The Who’s agenda. The band is — we think — slated to play the Super Bowl. You see, after we reported the news Friday, the band send around a statement claiming the announcement was “pure speculation.” But by that night, according to TheRockRadio, Daltrey was joking with fans about The Who’s upcoming performance. And yet… The Daily Swarm is still reporting that nothing’s firm. Hey, NFL: I think it’s time to end the confusion and spill the beans.
