ATP NY 2010 Announced; Iggy and the Stooges to Perform ‘Raw Power’

Well, folks, it’s happening. After a life-changing ATP NY 2009, followed by a few months of rumors that the New York festival wouldn’t happen next year because Kutsher’s Country Resort, where it’s been held for the past two years, was up for sale… the folks at All Tomorrow’s Parties have announced ATP NY 2010. We don’t know who’s curating yet, but we do have some other fan-fucking-tastic news: ATP has announced its Friday “Don’t Look Back” line-up. Geek out below:

IGGY & THE STOOGES performing Raw Power
SLEEP
performing Holy Mountain
MUDHONEY
performing Superfuzz Bigmuff + Early Singles
THE SCIENTISTS
performing Blood Red River (first ever U.S. Show)

That’s right, guys: Iggy and the Stooges playing Raw Power. I kind of don’t care what the rest of the festival line-up is; that show alone makes it worthwhile.

While past ATPs have taken place in mid-September, this one is going down on Labor Day weekend (meaning, among other things, less need to take time off from work!), 9/3-5. The ticket presale is on now, while general sales begin next Wednesday. The whole thing costs $250 + $150 lodging (per person) + annoying currency-exchange fees. And it’s worth every penny. Now, excuse me while I overdraw my bank account to buy some tickets…
