Jennifer Lopez Is All About the “Louboutins”
It’s always cringe-worthy when two brands that are “so last year” find each other. Witness, Jennifer Lopez’s brand-new single “Louboutins.” (Stream it below.) I guess J. Lo has decided she’s a singer again — just when she was in danger of being best known for her line of department-store fragrances!
In a song that will make its live debut Sunday, on the American Music Awards, Lopez channels Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” via Beyonce’s pop girl-power anthems. Except, well, she just doesn’t have the voice to nail it. The track is a miracle of studio wizardry, complete with canned brass instruments and Britney Spears-ready drum machine beats. But the chorus is, well… here are the lyrics: “I’m movin’ on / I’m throwin’ on my Louboutins [x100ish].” That’s right, reader: She left him. Ain’t nothin’ we haven’t heard about before. In the end, “Louboutins” makes me long for a future when exorbitantly expensive, ankle-breaking stilettos and the girl who tried to make a comeback singing about them are ancient history.

Give me a break!! She couldn’t sing years ago and even with all the digital stuff they can do to her voice is still isn’t enough. The girl needs to stay out of the studio. And this new song? Yawn…Freakin booooorrrrring. Not a single ounce of creativity. I guess her new name is Lola? Lame…

I am not going to say that J.LO has an amazing range but I will say I am kinda sick of people saying she cannot sing. It’s not the truth. She’s an alto and therefore is not gonna have the range of a Whitney or Jennifer Hudson. But, she CAN sing. She is a performer. How many others artists can we say are so digitally enhanced and are helped out through the studio. I just say, don’t hate. Ok, she may not have all the most creative tracks but her songs sell and she can bring it better than many. So I say, step off and at least respect she’s out there after twins and still rocks it out, can you say the same for yourselves?

The song is ok, the lyrics are pretty basic. I really don’t think she can compete with the talent that is out there now. And then again she has NEVER been able to keep up because the only thing she is good at is being a demanding DIVA bitch. Go back to Miami and be a mom….your TWINS need you. I’m a twin and let me tell you, I would hate my mom for choosing her career before I reached the age of FIVE. I’m not surprised though, J LO is a FAME WHORE!
