Convicted Girlfriend-Beater Chris Brown to Appear on ‘Good Morning America’… But Hey, At Least He’s Not Gay

As you may recall, American Idol winner Adam Lambert’s Good Morning America appearance was canceled after our nation’s virgin eyes and ears experienced a bit of his guy-on-guy naughtiness during the American Music Awards. Now it’s being reported that Chris Brown, who admittedly beat the crap out of girlfriend and singer Rihanna will be welcomed to the GMA set next month. Nice. Really nice. In addition to sending the message that we won’t be toleratin’ no gay shit, ABC is now condoning a domestic abuser as a more suitable guest for Good Morning America.

ABC claims, of course, that Adam Lambert’s segment was not canceled because is gay, but because “He showed himself to be unpredictable on live TV…. Chris Brown’s interview was booked way before Adam Lambert took to the stage.” Let’s apply this logic to Chris Brown, shall we? Because Brown snapped once (that we know of) and beat his girlfriend, he should be barred from the show lest he repeat the behavior that drew him national hatred in the first place. Right?

If you weren’t disgusted by the absurdity and pigheadedness in the initial cancellation of Lambert’s performance, we hope this will put more fine of a point on it.

Everyone is taking this out of portion! Adam is openly gay. If two women would have kissed it would be ok and cool. Both Chris Brown and Adam has made a mistake everyone is not perfect. I KNOW YOU HAVE SOMETHING YOU WANNA CONFESS!!

I agree with Heidi Vanderlee. Adam didn’t make a mistake. Chris Brown did, and it´s more than a mistake, it´s a felony.

You know the crazy thing is Adam Lambert respects a whole lot of entertainers. Adam said “GMA had to do what it had to do and he had no problem with that.” He went on to say “ABC probably has a lot of political stuff going on behind closed doors that he wasn’t aware of. He respected their decision.” So that being said Adam Lambert did not have a problem with being canceled from the show. I also read Adam said “He respects Chris Brown and said Chris is a hard worker and that he believes everyone deserves a second chance to prove themselves.” Adam Lambert just proves to everyone what a really nice guy he is. I mean heck I would be peeved if I was canceled and I sure would have a huge heartache with being replaced by a guy who was convicted of beat downs on chics. But – I’m not Adam Lambert and the guy after saying what he did about ABC and Chris Brown gives me pause. With my emotions behind me Adam is probably right on both subjects. I can rant and rave against the man, “ABC” but I don’t know what political scare they were facing. I just know the kid I saw sing so many different genres during Idol and I know the kid knows how to please an audience and give them what they want, how they want it and even do those special orders. About Chris Brown. Adam Lambert is right again. It would be so easy for me to peg him as an aggressive teen who looses his temper and beats the living daylights out of girls he supposedly loves. But like Adam said I should at least allow the kid to show the world he is learning, he is changing, he is growing and he does deserve a second chance. So many of my friends wouldn’t even think of giving Chris Brown a second chance. Heck honestly until I read what Adam Lambert said about Chris Brown I wouldn’t have either. But Adam made sense and he makes me think and he makes me see the vulnerability in humanity if we close our eyes, hearts and minds to things we are scared of. Heck yes I’m scared Chris Brown could beat down another female. Heck yes I’m scared ABC can cancel an openly gay man and then put on a…dog beater or rapist or just general creep. But give both ABC and Chris Brown a second chance and let ABC off the hook about their decision and let Chris Brown’s side get told. Only a guy with balls of steel like Adam Lambert could do that.

Adam didn’t make a mistake. His performance was gutsy. I mean how much courage do you have to have to get up on stage, live and do your first single off your first album in front of all of those famous people! And then to do that! I would have been scared out of my shoes! He took a serious risk. In the heat of the performance he changed two things (only two things) and look at the hell storm that got rained down on him. Sure he tripped but dang if that didn’t look like it was part of the choreographed routine. Overall I really LOVED it. I love Adam’s music video of For Your Entertainment. Great CD!
