Beyonce to Collaborate with of Montreal?

A few months ago, we saw Solange Knowles make a special guest appearance at an of Montreal show, joining the band for a cover of Diana Ross’ “Love Hangover.” So it’s no surprise to learn she’s gotten her big sister Beyonce into Kevin Barnes and co.’s addictive antics. In an interview with the Guardian, when asked who she’d like to collaborate with next, the singer had this to say: “There’s so many people I’d like to work with still, but I’d like to maybe go outside of the box. My sister [Solange] has put me on to bands like [indie group] Of Montreal and some other different types of artists. I would love to do something like that on my next album.” Considering that Beyonce can pretty much take her pick of anyone in the world to work with, I’d say that’s pretty impressive.
And it seems Kevin Barnes agrees. Paste magazine tracked him down for a reaction and, as you might imagine, he was thrilled. “I fell in love with Beyonce’s ‘Crazy in Love’ and, since then, I’ve always kept an ear out for what she releases,” he said. “I wasn’t that familiar with her Destiny’s Child stuff, until Solange played me some of the deep cuts. I was truly blown away by the vocal arrangements/performances. I think most people don’t realize what an amazingly great singer Beyonce is. She is so much more than a pop star. There is a reason why she’s the most popular and beloved female vocalist of our time. I would be fully psyched to work with her.”
So… we know Kevin and Beyonce are up for it. But how do their respective alter egos, Georgie Fruit and Sasha Fierce, feel about it?
