Daft Punk's Electroma
It couldn't be a better year for Daft Punk. In the past few months, the Parisian duo has conquered the dance rock scene with a highly successful sold-out arena tour, and has dominated airwaves with their Kanye West collaboration. Now, Daft Punk is applying their futuristic hipster style to film with the release of Electroma.
The 74 minute film follows around Daft Punk's public image, two leather-clad robots, as they try to achieve human form. Void of dialogue or facial expressions, this film is as experimental as it gets, depending on pure visuals to convey the frustrations of the robots. Very cool stuff. It will be released on DVD in January of '08. Can't wait until then? There are midnight showings taking place through the fall. A list of theaters and showdates is under the cut.
