What You're Doing Tonight - 11/7/07

grizzlysinger.jpgHelp support the striking TV writers tonight by boycotting your telly and going to a concert. Here are some options:

Grizzly Bear, who had to cancel their highly anticipated Conan O'Brien appearance because of the strike, will be playing a free show at Virgin Megastore in Union Square today at 6:30. Their new album, Friend, features alternate versions and covers of their older songs, so expect a familiar yet different live show.

Over at Cake Shop, local buzz band Soft will be inciting smiles with their delicate, hook-laden pop. These guys are quickly emerging from their lower east side roots, so this may be one of the last chances you'll have to see them in an intimate venue. Delaware's psycha-shoegazers The Sky Drops open up at 8 pm. Tickets are $6.
