georgiejames.jpgPrepare for a cold and rainy weekend with some live music tonight. Down in Tribeca, Saddle Creek duo Georgie James rock Knitting Factory with their cheerful pop. Travis Morrison, ex-Dismemberment Plan member, opens. Doors are at 6, and tickets are $12.

If you're in Chelsea, Hiro Ballroom is hosting the DEGENERATES party, this time with a great lineup of DJs. First, Spank Rock beat makers Ronnie Darko and XXXChange spin hip hop. Next up, Moby himself spins dance/house. Closing the night will be remix master Tommie Sunshine. Tickets are $20 at the door, $5 online.

East Village bound? West coast synth rockers Something For Rockets bring their dark, yet uplifting sound to Mercury Lounge. Lead singer Rami Pearlman is famed violinist Yitzak Pearlman's son, which explains the sophistication and elegance embedded in their music. Tickets are $10.
