Paul Simon to Reopen Beacon
Earlier this week, we brought you the news that Leonard Cohen will be playing his first New York show in 15 years on February 19th at the Beacon. On the off chance that didn’t impress you, maybe you’ll be excited about the folk-rock legend/Vampire Weekend inspiration who will give the first performance at the venue after seven months of renovations. (Note: I didn’t even realize the Beacon was closed because, well, I haven’t been to the Upper West Side in years.) Yup, it’s Paul Simon.
But wait, there’s more: Simon will be playing not one but two dates at the Beacon—and one of them is Valentine’s Day. (The other is February 13.) If you’re interested in giving your beloved the gift of “Call Me Al,” be prepared to plunk down $80-265 and be ready to snatch up your tickets when they go on sale January 25th at 9 a.m. You can buy them through Ticketmaster or, starting the second day of sales, at the Radio City Music Hall or Madison Square Garden box offices. That is, if there is a second day of sales…
