Video: Henry Rollins and Tom Morello Wax Progressive
Just before recording got underway for Lime at Lime with Tom Morello: The Nightwatchman session benefiting Amnesty International, former Black Flag frontman/raconteur/fellow activist Henry Rollins stopped by the studio for a visit. Who knew what would go down with this much talent and testosterone in one small room, but what ensued was some passionate discourse on the state of activism in America today. Rollins and Morello riffed on a variety of progressive notions ranging from Morello’s involvement with Amnesty International and his own organization Axis of Justice, to the role of music in activism, to President Obama’s first term in office. Militant and heart-felt, the discussion both educates and inspires. Click on the videos below, and do the right thing!

LWMB TV: The Mary Onettes
Not too long ago, LWMB contributor Frank Deserto shared with y’all a video and free mp3 from Sweden’s The Mary Onettes. Well, we recently caught up with the band on their whirlwind trip to New York City, where they played four shows in five days. They spoke to us about the pitfalls they experienced in recording their most recent album, Islands (out now on Labrador), all the attention being paid to Swedish artists in America lately, how they chose their name, and the sonic concepts behind their unique brand of ’80s-influenced melodramatic pop.
The video interview below features clips of several standout cuts from Islands, including the songs “Dare,” “Puzzles,” “Century,” and “Whatever Saves Me.” If you like those, you can hear the rest at the LimeWire Store right here.
