The LimeWire Music Blog (“LWMB” or the “Web Site”) provides a blogging service to you (the “Service(s)”), subject to the following Privacy Policy. Your use of the Service constitutes acceptance of this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use, so read them carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not provide any information or use the Services offered or provided on the Web Site.

This policy describes the information collection, use and dissemination practices of Lime Wire LLC (”Lime Wire”) and applies to Lime Wire’s collection, use, storage and disclosure of information by Lime Wire on its Web Site located at the URL www.blog.limewire.com. This Web Site contains links to other websites, but Lime Wire is not responsible for the information collection or privacy practices of third party websites or applications. Certain linked websites operate on different business models and practices and may use your Personal Identifiable Information (”PII”) in a manner wholly different from Lime Wire, and it is up to you to understand the privacy practices of any third-party websites to which you choose to link to or visit through this Web Site.  The fact that we link to another website is not an endorsement, authorization or representation that we are affiliated to that third party.

Because of its importance and to make it easier for you to find and review it, we have made this Privacy Policy into a separate document on the Web Site. However, the Privacy Policy is a part of our agreement with you. The other part of that agreement is found in our Terms of Use which describe how and when we may make changes to these statements and terms and how they become binding upon you. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Lime Wire is the sole owner of the Web Site, and is the owner, licensee or authorized party with respect to the “Material” and “Content” (as defined in the Terms of Use), and all information collected and presented on the Web Site. Lime Wire may occasionally collect PII from users of the LWMB who voluntarily provide such information to a) post comments on the Site; b) register for special programs, sweepstakes and contests; and c) through other information exchange methods, including email. Any PII we receive will be stored and managed by Lime Wire, and Lime Wire does not currently sell or rent this information. However, to provide our users with better services, we may use the information we collect to share with our business partners for us to provide products or services that may enhance your experience on the Web Site. Lime Wire is not responsible for PII you choose to submit through comment sections on LWMB, and any information you provide is voluntary.

As you use the Site, our servers automatically record information that the browser sends whenever it points to the Web Site (“Log Data”). Log Data may include, but is not limited to, your computer’s Internet Protocol address, browser type, the web page you were visiting before you came to the Web Site and information you search for on the Web Site.
Lime Wire may disclose PII or Log Data in response to legal process (e.g., in response to a court order or a subpoena). Lime Wire may also disclose such information in response to a law enforcement agency’s request or where Lime Wire believes it is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Use or as otherwise required by law. Lime Wire may also transfer information about you if it is dissolved and its assets are sold or donated.

In addition to your username, any comments or submissions that you post to the Web Site will be publicly available.  Lime Wire is not responsible for monitoring, protecting or insuring the privacy of any information, including PII, you choose to submit through any public areas, including user comment areas, and any such information is provided by you on a voluntary basis.

HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

PII and Log Data may be used for the following purposes: (i) to provide and improve our services, features and content; (ii) to administer your use of our services and your account; (iii) to enable users to enjoy and easily navigate the Web Site; (iv) to better understand your needs and interests; (v) to fulfill requests you may make; (vi) to personalize your experience; (vii) to provide service announcements; and (viii) to provide you with further information and offers from us or third parties that we believe you may find useful or interesting, including newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information on related services. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive such communications, please follow the unsubscribe instructions provided in any of the communications.
Lime Wire does not currently sell users’ PII to third parties. Lime Wire may sponsor contests and promotions on the Web Site. When you enter a contest or other promotion conducted on the Web Site, we may ask for your name, postal address, e-mail address and other PII so we can administer the contest/promotion and notify winners. Lime Wire may share this information with third parties serving as Lime Wire’s partners in such contests or promotions.

LOGGING AND COOKIES

Like many websites, we use “cookies” and “web beacons” to collect non-personally identifiable information about how the Web Site is used. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer’s hard disk for record-keeping purposes. We use “session ID cookies” to enable certain features of our service, to better understand how you interact with the Web Site and to monitor web traffic routing on the Web Site and aggregate usage of the Web Site. Our advertisers and we may use this information to better personalize the content, banners, and promotions that you see on the Web Site.  Such third party use of cookies is subject to that party’s own privacy policies which may differ from ours.  You can instruct your browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. A “web beacon” is a programming code that can be used to display an image on a web page (by using an programming function), but can also be used to transfer an individual’s unique user identification (often in the form of a cookie) to a database and associate the individual with previously acquired information about an individual in a database. This would allow a website owner to track certain websites an individual visits online. Lime Wire uses cookies and web beacon technology for non-personally identifiable information (including IP addresses) to analyze trends, administer the Web Site, track user movement and gather broad demographic information for aggregate, non-personally identifying uses and analytics.

Advertising agencies, advertising networks and other companies (collectively, “Advertisers”) who may place advertisements on the Web Site and on the Internet generally may use their own cookies, web beacons and other technology to collect information about users. Lime Wire does not control Advertisers’ use of such technology and Lime Wire has no responsibility for the use of such technology to gather information about individuals. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

We do not direct the Web Site to persons under 13 years of age, and require users to be 13 years or older. Accordingly, we do not knowingly collect or maintain on the Web Site PII from persons under 13 years of age. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with PII without their consent, he or she should contact privacy@limewire.com. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with PII, we will delete such information from our files. We recommend that minors over the age of 13 ask a parent or guardian for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet.

SECURITY

We are concerned with safeguarding your information. We employ a variety of industry-standard measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access. Nevertheless, despite our reasonable precautions, unauthorized access, hardware or software failure, and other technical and human factors may compromise the security of your information at any time. Therefore, we cannot assure you that the PII that Lime Wire may collect in the future will never be disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy.
