This year, we made LMWR Token available across multiple blockchains and in this article, we’ll quickly dive into what this means for you and what benefits this entails.

For some further context, LMWR was launched in May 2023, as an ERC-20 utility token on the Ethereum blockchain. A total of 1,000,000,000 (1 billion) LMWR were minted, and this maximum supply has gradually been reduced to a total supply of 633,045,269 tokens, through our LMWR burn programs.

Being an Ethereum-based token provides access to a large community and is easy to integrate for exchanges and partners, but it also comes with highly-fluctuating gas fees. To enable transactions with low gas fees and to increase the overall accessibility of the token, LMWR has advanced to a multichain token and is now also available on Binance Smart Chain (BNB) as well as Base chain.

Continue reading to find out more about the LMWR token multichain setup and how you can trade and transfer LMWR with low gas fees.

What does multichain mean?

High transaction fees can be a significant barrier to efficient trading, especially as the demand for blockchain-based assets grows. Today, solutions like multichain crypto compatibility allow users to navigate between networks more flexibly, while avoiding high transaction fees and gaining access to different functions across chains. Together with our partner Chainport, we have developed two token bridges, allowing anyone to bridge LMWR from Ethereum to Binance Smart Chain (BNB) and to Base chain.

How to trade LMWR on BNB or Base chain

LimeWire has created liquidity pools on PancakeSwap and Uniswap, to allow trading LMWR on the BNB and Base chain. Follow these link to trade $LMWR on BNB or Base:

Please bear in mind that you will need a DeFi wallet (e.g., Metamask) to trade on PancakeSwap or Uniswap. If you prefer to use centralized exchanges, such as Kraken, KuCoin or Bybit, you can find the full list of all exchanges the LimeWire token is listed on at lmwr.com/exchanges.
